VABANC Legal Clinic – Calling for Volunteers!
Every first Wednesday evening of the month, VABANC Legal Clinic is hosted from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Vietnamese American Service Center (2410 Senter Rd., San Jose, CA 95111), fully operated by volunteer availability. Our next clinic is on Wednesday, February 5th, 2025. There will be no clinics in December 2024 and January 2025.
In collaboration with the Vietnamese American Service Center (VASC), VABANC invites attorneys and law students to volunteer at our legal clinics. Since 2016, our dedicated VABANC volunteers have been the backbone of our mission. As we recover from the pandemic, the San Jose Vietnamese community needs your support more than ever.
We are particularly seeking volunteer attorneys with experience in housing, immigration, employment, and family law.
Non-attorneys, law students, and community members are also welcome to volunteer and engage directly with clients through intake consultations or Vietnamese translation assistance. Your support can make a significant difference!
If interested, please complete our Volunteer Sign-Up sheet to join our volunteer list.
Join Us for our Next General Board Meeting!
Our next VABANC General Board Meeting will be held in person on a Saturday in January 2025. Stay tuned for further details! VABANC would like to welcome you to join our 2025 leadership team.

Code Tenderloin’s Joy to the City Toy Drive
Code Tenderloin is launching a special toy drive to bring joy to the lives of 5,000 children in need later this year, at their annual Joy to the City 2024 in Chase Arena with the Warriors holiday event. They want to ensure every child receives a gift that will brighten their day. They are kindly asking for donations of new, unwrapped toys to make this possible. Your generosity will make a significant impact and bring smiles to so many children and families throughout the Bay Area.
ABOUT CODE TENDERLOIN
Code Tenderloin provides a wide range of services to the San Francisco community, with a focus on job readiness training, employment support, and tech skills development. They serve low-income immigrants and communities of color, offering food delivery, outreach to youth, families, and seniors. Through their holistic approach, Code Tenderloin is dedicated to empowering individuals to secure sustainable employment and create brighter futures for themselves.
ABOUT JOY TO THE CITY 2024
Joy to the City brought smiles to many children who may not otherwise receive holiday gifts. The upcoming second annual Joy to the City follows last year’s successful event that engaged the San Francisco community. In 2023, they welcomed over 5000 attendees and distributed 4000+ toys, books, clothes, 850 grocery bags, 500 turkeys, and over 500 free meals. This year’s holiday celebration will feature more toy and book giveaways, photos with Santa, fun crafts, music performances, DJs, and children’s entertainment.
This year, they are aiming to make an even bigger impact, and they need your help to achieve their goal.
TOY DONATION DROP-OFF
• Monday – Friday, 10 AM – 5 PM at their office located at 55 Taylor Street, San Francisco
• Donate online at: https://www.codetenderloin.org/joy-to-the-city-2024
Together, we can make this holiday season a little brighter for children in need.
