MISSION

Established in 2010, the VABANC Law Foundation (“VLF”) is the 501(c)(3) charitable arm of VABANC. The VABANC Law Foundation’s mission is to promote justice and access to legal services and resources for those in the community, particularly those from underresourced or underserved communities.

ABOUT US

Established in 2010, the VABANC Law Foundation promotes and supports public interest work in the Bay Area. The VABANC Law Foundation achieves its mission and goals by awarding legal fellowships to attorneys that have a passion to serving underrepresented communities.

The fellowship has grown since 2010, when VLF awarded the first fellowship of $25,000. Currently, the legal fellowship is one of the highest available to public interest attorneys at $50,000.  The fellowships provides assistance to new attorneys to launch their careers in public interest law and develops a diverse network of public interest lawyers in multiple practice areas.  To date, VLF public interest attorneys have worked on projects in areas such as workers rights, immigration, and housing.
